How many people does the retreat accommodate?
The house can accommodate either 2 couples, 1 couple, 3 people ( 1 couple and a single), or 2 singles. Privacy is ensured - each bedroom is separated by a vast living area. Both bedrooms afford wonderful mountain views – at dawn and dusk each day expect to see kangaroos grazing outside your bedroom window!
If we book the house for a couple will we have the house to ourselves?
Yes. We have a different tariffs for 1 couple, 2 couples, 3 people or 2 singles.
Will I be able to observe kangaroos from the house?
Yes, many kangaroos and native birds graze and feed quite close to the house and you can watch them through the windows.
What does Kangaroos in the Top Paddock provide?
Bedlinen and towels of pure cotton, extra pillows, a cosy doona and cotton blankets, ironing board, iron and hairdryers, liquid hand/body wash.
What do we need to bring?
Food supplies and personal items.
Is there heating and air conditioning?
Yes. We have a cosy wood fire plus split system heating and cooling. There is additional heating in the bedrooms and bathrooms for those cooler nights.
Are there spa baths?
Because all water utilised on the property is pure rainwater and we need to be careful with this precious resource, both bathrooms have comfortable, walk-in showers.
What is in the kitchen?
The kitchen is well-equipped with ceramic cooktop and fan-forced oven, microwave, electric jug, toaster, citrus juicer, electic wok and portable electic grill to use outside. There is also an amply supply of pots and pans, utensils, cutlery, crockery, glasses, coffee plungers, teapots.

We also provide:
Tea towels, tea bags, ground coffee, condiments, aluminium foil, paper towel and serviettes, dish detergent and disposable gloves.
Can we cook and eat outside?
Yes. We have an alfresco kitchen with push button electric cookplate and also a portable electric grill. There are dining areas in both the back courtyard and the front terrace.
Entertainment?
We have a good quality audio/video system and an ample collection of music, videos, books, playing cards and chess set.

What is in the breakfast hampers?
Continental Breakfast Tray $30 (for 2 persons):
Three varieties of cereal
- Two fruits
- Orange juice.
- Milk
- Butter
- 6 slices of bread
- Gourmet breakfast spreads.

Hot Breakfats Tray $40 (for 2 persons):
- Orange juice
- Rindless short cut bacon
- 4 Free range eggs
- 2 Truss tomatoes
- Milk

- Gourmet breakfast spreads
- Butter
Where do I pick up the keys?
You will receive full instructions, a key access code, route and travel tips upon final payment of your booking.
What do I need to do when checking out? Is cleaning included in the rate?
Cleaning of the property is included in your tariff. Cleaning will be completed after your departure by Jenny who cares for TP, however we request that you leave the house in a clean and tidy condition with dishes washed and put away, bins emptied, tables and kitchen benches wiped down, BBQ cleaned (if used).

Please try to avoid moving furniture as it is heavy work for Jenny to replace.

Please dispose of rubbish correctly (there is a bin at the front gate). If a breakage does occur, please let us know so that it can be fixed or replaced in time for the next guest.

Ensure that you lock the rear & front door and replace the key in the security box. Turn off all lights, draw the curtains and blinds.

What are the checkin and checkout times?
Checkin : after 3pm. Checkout : 10.30 am.
Can I request a late checkout?
We need to allow time for Jenny to maintain the meticulous standard of the house and garden, as you will appreciate if you have previously stayed at Top Paddock. We therefore regret that we cannot generally provide late checkout.
What is the minimum length of stay?
There is a 2 night minimum stay, with a 1 night stay incurring a $50 surcharge. 4 night minimum stay during Easter and Melbourne Cup weekend.
Do you have Laundry facilities?
Hand-washing facilities available at the external sink where there is also an extendable clothes line.
Is there a non-smoking policy?
Yes
Do we cater for children & pets?
We have some potential hazards for toddlers and young children such as a wood burning fire, for this reason we consider the property "suitable for adults" with the exception of infants and children over 16.
With regard to pets, because of our proximity to the National park and the kangaroos and birds, sorry, but we are unable to accommodate your pet.
